Behailu’s Story.
As the only educational program in Korah, we firmly believe that education plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a healthy and successful life. We provide people with the skills they need to overcome poverty, protect themselves from injustice, prevent disease, and live lives of freedom and opportunity. We believe that educated citizens are citizens who are empowered to act as advocates for economic and social change. And ultimately, we believe that an educated population promotes a better-educated nation overall.
That said, we were beaming with pride when we received this recent report from our Staff about one of our Students who achieved a very high honor due to his dedication and perseverance in his academic life. Behailu is a true orphan. He lost his parents at a young age and was being raised by his grandparents when we met him in 2013. Shortly after entering our program, he lost both grandparents. He is now one of 11 students that is solely cared for by our loving staff in Ethiopia.
This is Behailu’s Story
“Congratulations to all Students, Staff, Founders and Sponsors, Families and Friends of Out of the Ashes, Inc. on a scholarship granted to one top Student!!!
This student is one of Out of the Ashes, Inc. fully sponsored school children.
In 2012 E.C (Ethiopian Calendar), he attended grade 11, scored an average of 92.9, and stood 1st from his class despite school being locked down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This student is one among fourteen students who is enrolled at the Time Academy.
He is currently attending grade 12 at the above-mentioned school. He is doing very well at the school with a good manner.
Following students’ registrations at the Time Academy, Out of the Ashes, Inc. has shared its vision and mission to school owners and requested that they consider a general discount or granting scholarships for a few students.
Taking the request into account, the school has granted us a full scholarship for one student for the whole year which covers monthly tuition and tutorial fees. The reason for granting a scholarship for the student for the 2013 E.C academic year is due to the student’s greater result, OA’s continuous follow-ups and efforts, and the school’s good cooperation.
The scholarship granted holds great meaning to all Out of the Ashes, Inc. Students, Staff, Families of children, Founders and Sponsors!
We strongly believe that a collective effort makes a real difference in the lives of the sponsored children. To make this a reality, we are preparing ourselves to reach out to potential business communities to share the vision and mission of OA and invite them to work together.
The scholarship we were granted from Time Academy will give us the energy to do more. And we also encourage our fellow Students to follow the path of this Student.
The name of this student is Behailu H.
‘…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.’ Matthew 5:16 (Holy Bible, New International Version).
Let’s glorify God and shine in Korah and the surroundings through the work of OA.
LET US CELEBRATE THE SUCCESS!”
